Several of my customers emailed me with the following link:
If you hadn’t heard through the dahlia grapevine, yet, I thought you might like to know about this: It’s Wynne’s Dahlias.

The Wynne's daughter, Natalie posted this on their website:
Wynne's Dahlias Closed
Our family suffered a terrible tragedy February 16th, 2013. My parent's (Walt & Cory Wynne) house burned to the ground & my dad (Walt Wynne) perished in the fire.
All of the dahlia tubers & all of my parents dahlia customer information perished in the fire.
We will make every attempt to try & refund people's money, but it will be awhile.
If you wish to email me your information & how much you paid we will make every attempt to put together refunds in the future.
Email address: waltsdahlias@yahoo.com
Please keep my mom (Cory Wynne) & our family in your prayers.
Thank you
This tragedy has been on my mind for the last two days and deeply saddens my heart. What a devastating thing to have happen to anyone. Sending our heartfelt sympathy to the Wynne Family.

The sun was shining so nice today, I thought it...
MUST BE SPRING! Then, I realized it was February... bah! My dahlias and I are ready for Spring. I spent some time down at the Potting Shed working with some of the dahlias. Trying something new this year with my labeling. Instead of putting all the labels on little flags like this photo:
I've taken the labels and laminated them so each label is about 3" x 3" and hole punched them so I can put a wire stem through the label; later I can pull the labels off the wire stem and attached to a string that runs the length of each row for identification for my customers.
I'm doing this because last year I had an awful time with the weather fading out the labels, the rain washing the name off the label, and the wind tearing the labels from the flags. I decided I don't want to go through that again!
Here's a couple more pictures of some of the new dahlias destined for the garden this Spring:
